What we think:

The Michelin Power 5 Rear is a premium hypersport tire designed for riders who prioritize performance on the street with occasional track use. It excels in grip, stability, and wet-weather confidence — ideal for high-performance sport bikes.

🏍️ Why Consider the Michelin Power 5 Rear?

✅ Key Strengths:

  • Excellent Wet Grip: Silica-based compounds and Michelin’s Water Evergrip tech deliver superior wet weather performance.

  • Sport-Focused Design: Optimized for aggressive street riding, offering sharp handling and stability at lean.

  • Tread Life: Longer-lasting than track-focused tires like the Power Cup 2, with a more even wear pattern for road use.

  • Dual Compound Technology (2CT+ Rear): Harder center for longevity, softer shoulders for grip during spirited cornering.

  • Comfortable Ride: Michelin’s casing technology helps absorb road imperfections better than stiffer track-focused competitors.

Loved Them on My Previous Bike, now a 2nd Set on a Lighter Bike

This is my 2nd set, on a different bike. My experience on the first set was excellent. It was on a heavier BMW S1000XR and I remember them holding up pretty well up to the end at about 8000 miles.

Now I have them on my S1000R, about 80 lbs. lighter, I'm hoping to see them perform even better, maybe even last longer.
